Historic Converted Ice House is home to 51 Hip New Condos

10 11 2010

Regardless of how familiar you may be with downtown San Francisco, you probably still don’t know where 1 Ecker Place is located.  Originally an old ice house from the early 1900′s, this unique condo building sits tucked away on a tiny alley between Market & Mission and First & Second.

The condos were originally marketed a few years ago.  The developer eventually bailed out on the project and 1 Ecker stalled for a very long time.  It is back now with a new owner and a new marketing company.    1 Ecker Place offers 51 very unique condos in the heart of the Financial District.

Check out the details here and let me know when you’d like a tour.

Prospect Restaurant Gets Ready to Open the Doors at The Infinity

24 06 2010

This has been a long time coming, but the June 29th opening date of Prospect Restaurant is almost here.  Prospect is newest creation from the gang that gave us Boulevard (Ravi Kapur, Nancy Oakes, Pam Mazzola and Kathy King).    This completely changes things at the virtually sold-out Infinity complex where residents are used to walking blocks or driving across town to find great food.  Let’s hope the food is as great as Boulevard.  Check out more at sf.eater.com

Better Late Than Never: Here Comes Tower Two on Rincon Hill

26 05 2010

A second Rincon Hill condo tower is now moving forward.  Until now, the solitary 60-story One Rincon south tower has long seemed out-of-place with no immediate neighbors.  Looking like a tall, lonely oscillating fan to many locals, the single building has been an odd sight hovering over the Bay Bridge entrance ramp.  The new smaller second tower across Harrison Street might help to even things out, standing at 45 floors, it was planned years ago but was put on hold as a result of the recession.     The SF Examiner reports that Gavin Newsom signed the green light legislation yesterday .

New Hayes Valley Condo Building – LindenHayes – 66% Sold Already?

11 05 2010

Of the 32 sparkling new condos at LindenHayes, most were already in contract with buyers before today (which by the way was Opening Day).  This new Hayes Valley boutique condo building is located on Franklin between Linden & Hayes (hence the clever name LindenHayes).   The 5 story upscale building offers 1, 2, and 3 bedroom plans with prices ranging from the 500′s to the 900′s.  Although all the 3 bedroom homes are all sold out,  there is a nice selection of 2 bedrooms and at least one 1 bedroom still available.  This new building has a lot going for it.  Each unit has 1 car garage parking,  reasonable HOA dues (about $485/month), in-unit laundry, central heat & air, and an unbeatable location.  I can get you in for a tour or get you specific pricing,  just let me know.      For more info on the building, check this out.

One Hawthorne Opens its Doors

19 04 2010

Just across the street from the W Hotel, the most recent new condo building in Soma has opened its doors.  With 165 condos, the 24 story  One Hawthorne is the latest arrival on the Soma new construction condo scene.  I was impressed with the finishes and glad to see that the building offers a great common area roof deck complete with nice views and an even nicer gas grill.  List prices are in line with the market, starting in the 500′s for a 1 bedroom.  Central heat & air is a big plus in my book (the only other new buildings in Soma where you’ll find that nifty feature are: Blu, Infinity, One Rincon Hill, and Millennium).  The licensed (unfortunately not deeded) valet parking for $300/month next door is definitely a bit of a bummer but the no weight limit on dogs is a nice plus.  All in all, definitely a solid property worth looking at.
